Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

You can reach us by phone at (412) 207-7756 or by filling out the contact form on our Contact page. We'll get back to you to confirm availability and collect details about your pet.

Appointment length depends on your pet's size, coat condition, and the services requested. A basic bath for a small dog may take 1–2 hours, while a full groom for a large or heavily coated breed can take 3–4 hours or more. We'll give you an estimated timeframe when you book.

Please bring proof of current rabies vaccination for dogs. If your pet takes any medications or has known health conditions, letting us know in advance is helpful. If your pet is anxious, feel free to bring a familiar toy or small treat.

We work with a range of temperaments, but safety for both pets and groomers is a priority. If your pet has a history of biting or extreme stress reactions, please let us know when booking. We may recommend shorter sessions, additional desensitization visits, or consultation with your veterinarian for medical support before grooming.

We use a combination of high-velocity dryers and hand drying. We do not leave pets unattended in heated dryers. If your pet has respiratory issues or heat sensitivity, please let us know and we will adjust our approach accordingly.

We use professional-grade grooming shampoos and conditioners suited to the coat type and skin condition of each pet. If your pet has known allergies or skin sensitivities, please inform us when scheduling and we'll discuss alternatives.

Many pets actually behave better without their owner present, as they look for reassurance rather than tolerating the grooming process. However, for first visits or very anxious pets, we can discuss what works best for your individual animal.

Yes. Senior pets may need shorter sessions, more frequent breaks, and a gentler approach. We're experienced in adapting our process for older animals who may have mobility limitations, joint discomfort, or decreased tolerance for extended handling.

A deshedding treatment involves bathing with a deshedding shampoo and conditioner, followed by a thorough blow-out and brushing with specialized tools designed to remove loose undercoat. It is particularly beneficial for double-coated breeds like Huskies, German Shepherds, and Golden Retrievers during heavy shedding seasons.

If possible, give your dog a brush at home before the appointment to remove surface tangles. This is especially helpful for long-coated breeds. Avoid wetting the coat beforehand, as wet mats can tighten and become more difficult to work through.

A breed-specific trim follows the traditional style associated with a particular breed, such as the classic Poodle lion cut or the Schnauzer's distinctive beard and skirt. Not all owners want breed-standard grooming, and we're equally happy to do a practical trim that suits your lifestyle and grooming routine at home.

It depends on the severity of the matting. Minor tangles can often be worked through with detangling products and careful brushing. Tight, dense mats close to the skin are typically more humane to shave, as attempting to brush them out causes significant discomfort. We always discuss the options with owners before proceeding.

Ear cleaning is included in our full groom and deluxe groom services and is available as an add-on. We remove visible debris using an appropriate ear cleaning solution. If we notice signs of infection, redness, or discharge, we'll let you know so you can follow up with your veterinarian.

Minor nicks can occasionally occur, particularly when a pet moves unexpectedly during trimming. If this happens, we will treat the area with appropriate first aid, inform you immediately at pickup, and document the incident. For any concerns, we recommend consulting your veterinarian.

Yes, once your puppy has completed their vaccination series (typically around 16 weeks), they can start introductory grooming. Early grooming experiences help puppies become comfortable with handling, which makes future appointments much easier. Our puppy intro sessions are shorter and gentler than a full groom.

Yes, we offer add-ons including teeth brushing, blueberry facials, paw balm treatments, and bandana finishing. Ask about available add-ons when you book your appointment.

If you're unsure, our groomers are happy to talk through options during your intake consultation. Photos of styles you like are always welcome — they help us understand your preferences quickly. We'll also consider what's practical given your pet's coat condition and how much grooming you do at home.

Our salon is located at 11 Dewalt Ave, Brentwood, PA 15227. We serve clients from Brentwood and surrounding Pittsburgh-area neighborhoods. Please note we are a salon-based service and do not currently offer mobile grooming.

Yes, significantly. Cats are often more stress-sensitive than dogs and require a calmer, quieter environment. Our cat groomer uses low-restraint techniques, shorter handling times, and a separate space when possible to minimize stress. Feline grooming sessions are generally kept shorter than dog appointments for this reason.

We ask for at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations so we can offer the time slot to another client. Repeated last-minute cancellations may affect your ability to schedule future appointments. Please see our Refund Policy for more details.
